School in summer time, no class? Not true! Attending an international summer school is a great opportunity for PhD students to grow their network and get up to speed with the latest research methods, trends and outcomes in their field. We have put together a list of three summer school opportunities with upcoming application deadlines.

EATEL Summer School on Technology Enhanced Learning 2019 in Bari, Italy: Apply by February 22^nd

The 15th EATEL Summer School on Technology Enhanced Learning (JTELSS) will take place on June 1-8, 2019 in Bari, Italy.

The summer school is organized by the European Association of Technology Enhanced Learning – EATEL (http://ea-tel.eu/). The EATEL summer school provides a stimulating learning environment where participants get opportunities to develop research skills, increase their knowledge base, collaborate with others in their own and complementary research areas, engage in debate, have access to experts in the field, and discuss their own work.

Summer School On Research in Computing Education in Trondheim, Norway: Apply by March 1^st

The first Summer School on Research in Computing Education will take place on June 17-21 2019 in Trondheim, Norway.

The school offers an arena for developing knowledge and skills in the area of computing education research, giving participants the opportunity to take part in learning sessions with international experts in the field, engage in discussions, and get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and methods. The participants will also present and discuss their work, getting feedback from experts and peers.

Simon Initiative LearnLab Summer School at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA: Apply by May 10^th

Simon Initiative LearnLab Summer School will take place from July 29, 2019 to August 2, 2019 at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

The LearnLab Summer School is an intensive 1-week course focused on creating technology-enhanced learning experiments and building intelligent tutoring systems. The summer school will provide you with a conceptual background and considerable hands-on experience in designing, setting up, and running technology-enhanced learning experiments, as well as analyzing the data from those experiments in a technology-supported manner. Programming experience is not a pre-requisite for attending.
