Hermann Maurer - AACE Fellowship Award (2003)

Hermann MaurerThe Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of Hermann Maurer, Graz University of Technology, Austria.

The Award of AACE Fellow has been made to Professor Hermann Maurer in recognition of his outstanding contributions to AACE through his activities in ED-MEDIA - World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia & Telecommunications and E-Learn - World Conference on E-Learning in Corporate, Government, Healthcare, & Higher Education.

Professor Maurer was one of the founders of the International Conference on Computers and Learning (ICCAL) in 1987. In 1993, AACE became the organizer of ICCAL and the conference was renamed to ED-MEDIA. Hermann has been instrumental in ED-MEDIA becoming a truly international forum and highly respected conference in educational multimedia and telecommunications. He served as Chair of the Steering Committee, Keynote Speaker, Invited Speaker, Program Committee Member, and Paper Presenter.

Hermann Maurer also was one of the founders of the WebNet series of conferences which was subsequently renamed to E-Learn. His significant efforts established the basis for the E-Learn conference's current recognition and growth.

Hermann has authored numerous journal articles and proceedings papers for AACE publications.
