Conferences and Learning

Abstract:

We know that learning occurs in a variety of ways: through formal or instructionally designed events, informally, and incidentally. I will look at some key ideas from each of these learning settings and reflect on their application in traditional (and non-traditional) conferences. One of my main observations is that we tend not to design conferences around learning principles; I wil ask if we should? and if so, how?
