Webfair Orlando
(for ages 14-18)

Saturday, Nov. 7
1:30 - 5 PM

Webfair98 Orlando will be facilitated by Bill Cullifer, Executive Director,
The World Organization of Webmasters (WOW)

Webfair98 Orlando is a 3-½ hour seminar/laboratory for mentoring young people ages 14-18, and is free of charge. The goal of WOW's Webfair98 is to bring Orlando's young adults into a hands-on environment where they can develop a high-level understanding of what Web professionals do, the opportunities available, training required, the current challenges, and future prospects that lie ahead.

Mentors, including technologists, teachers, companies that employ web professionals, and web experts, will be on hand to assist and answer students' questions.

At Webfair Orlando students will learn from these mentors and senior webmasters about some of the more technical aspects of building websites, and will acquire improved research skills. This will enable them to assist other students and even teachers in the use of the Internet in the classroom.

The introduction to the skills required in web development will allow students to consider whether a career in this field is for them.
