Significant issues await those who tread into this environment including technological, administrative, curricular, instructional, economic and societal issues. However, with every issue there is opportunity and the online learning space is no different. Growth in this area is already phenomenal and is projected to continue increasing for the foreseeable future. Dr. Burnett will discuss these issues and opportunities, providing unique insights into this online learning revolution.

As Worldwide Product Manager for Online Learning at Apple Computer, Dr. Burnett is responsible for all of Apple's efforts relating to this field including the Apple Learning Interchange web site, which provides online resources for teaching, learning, research and collaboration, as well as online professional development for educators. In addition to his role at Apple Computer, Dr. Burnett serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin in the area of Instructional Technology. Prior to joining Apple and UT-Austin, Dr. Burnett served as a faculty member at both the K-12 and higher education levels, Assistant Superintendent for Strategic Planning and Technology and education/technology consultant. In his consulting role, Dr. Burnett has worked with numerous K-12 schools/districts, universities, community colleges, educational/professional organizations and businesses.
