M/SET 2000--International Conference on Mathematics / Science Education and Technology is a unique conference that focuses on learning and teaching across all educational levels and settings, including elementary, secondary, college, and teacher education in:
- Computer Science
This annual conference serves as a forum to discuss and exchange information on the current
- classroom applications
related to using information technology in mathematics, science, and computer science education.
You are invited to attend and participate in this international forum which offers many opportunities to explore this field.
M/SET 2000 will be held immediately prior to SITE 2000--Society for Technology and Teacher Education International Conference. This offers participants an affordable opportunity to attend two conferences when in San Diego. Both conferences are organized by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE). M/SET is co-sponsored by the Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching (JCMST).
Accepted papers will be published by AACE in the Mathematics/Science Education and Technology annual proceedings series. Books in this series serve as major source documents indicating the current state of teacher education and information technology. The Annuals also are distributed on ERIC microfiche and through AACE's Internet server. In addition, this edition will be published as a searchable electronic book on CD-ROM. First and second paper authors are limited to two papers published in the Annual.
The Technical Program includes a wide range of interesting and useful activities designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information. These include keynote and invited talks, paper presentations, poster/demonstration sessions, tutorials, panels, corporate sessions, and SIG discussions.
Companies participate through Corporate Showcases (25 minutes; scheduled as concurrent sessions), Corporate Demonstrations (2 hours; scheduled with Poster/Demos), and a variety of Sponsorship opportunities. These formats allow you to learn about a company's products and services, its recent developments and applications, and gain insight into its research and future directions, while at the same time providing you the opportunity to offer important feedback.
