East China Normal University (ECNU) is recognized as one of Shanghai’s top public research universities under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, and is included in China’s national education projects, “Project 211” and “Project 985”. Covering a total area of 207 hectares, one of the campus locations is situated in the Minhang district of Shanghai and the other is located in the district of Putuo in Shanghai. During the conference, there are inexpensive food services on the ECNU campus, itself. Additionally, there are reasonable and varied food options just off-campus. Of course, after the conference sessions, there are variety of exciting venues serving various cuisines throughout the city of Shanghai, some of which are in the neighborhoods described below to enjoy!

 

The Bund: The Bund is a waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River. For a century, the Bund has been one of the most recognizable symbols and the pride of Shanghai. The architecture along the Bund is a living museum of the colonial history of the 1800s.

Yu Garden: Yu Garden is believed to have been built in the Ming Dynasty, more than 400 years ago. The exquisite layout, beautiful scenery, and the artistic style of the garden architecture have made the garden one of the highlights of Shanghai.

Shanghai Tower: Located in Lujiazui Financial Zone, Shanghai Tower is China’s tallest skyscraper and the second tallest building in the world. From this height, one can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the Huangpu River, the Bund on the west, and several other skyscrapers like the Jin Mao Tower and the World Financial Center on the east bank.

Former French Concession: Some popular spots of Former French Concession are Xintiandi, Yongfu Road, Hengshan Road, which are lined with bars and nightclubs. Check out Xinle Road and Changle Road if you are looking for some high-end fashion boutiques. The streets also have the historic lane houses, the quaint old-school residential buildings.

Nanjing Road: China’s premier shopping street, the 5.5-km-long (3.4-mile-long) Nanjing Road, starts at the Bund in the east and ends in the west at the junction of Jing’an Temple and West Yan’an Street. Today it is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world.

Shanghai Museum: Located in the center of Shanghai in People’s Square, Shanghai Museum is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. Its style and presentation surround visitors with artifacts demonstrating ancient wisdom and philosophy.
