
Teachers’ Decisions on E-Learning for Global Citizenship Education
How are teachers preparing students for their changing world?
Do new technologies actually make a difference in developing the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed for engaged citizenship in an interconnectedness world? This presentation examines research on how teachers use e-learning in their classrooms to expand content knowledge, explore new sources of data, practice skills in intercultural communication, and other goals.
Biographical information: Merry M. Merryfield is emeritus professor of social studies and global education at The Ohio State University. Her research focuses on teaching for intercultural competence, global citizenship education and world mindedness both face to face and online.
