Mission and Audience

Mission

The mission of Global Learn conferences and events is to further the advancement and innovation in learning and technology. As the educational world becomes increasingly global, new ways to explore, learn, and share knowledge are needed. Global Learn serves as a means to connect and engage creative educators, researchers, consultants, training managers, policy makers, curriculum developers, entrepreneurs, and others in the topics and fields in which they are passionate.

Many individuals are transforming learning environments in local as well as more global ways. Global Learn offers them an opportunity to meet and discuss their ideas, findings, and next steps.

The decision to hold the initial annual conference in the Asia Pacific Region is testament to the enormous interest in learning and technology throughout this region of the world. In the years to come, Global Learn will be offered in all regions of the world including Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East.  See the most recent Request for Proposals to Host.

Among the other primary aims of Global Learn is to:

• Create learning and professional development opportunities combining the best and latest technologies with educational practices and characterized as interactive, social, and personal experiences.
• Serve as an experimental forum to test theories, ideas, and best practices for learning; and gain experience with innovative learning and social networking solutions.
• Provide opportunities for ongoing exploration of both the diversity and commonality of the uses of educational technology in different regions and cultures.
• Foster a global networking/collaborative community on learning and technology.
• Attract new people to the field of education and learning technologies and, hopefully, help inspire a new generation of global learning leaders in countries around the world. There will be specific conference events and activities to help identify and nurture the talents of the next generation of global educational leaders. At the same time, venues will be designed for all people to showcase how they are using technology to learn.
• Help visualize and shape the future of learning and teaching.

Audience

This includes educators, education and training leaders, training and learning center directors, military trainers, project managers, technology and learning administrators, instructional designers, heads of government agencies or projects, learning evaluators, learning technology researchers, and all in the knowledge services and media industries, including filmographers, technology innovators, educational consultants, educational philanthropists, educational entrepreneurs, nontraditional and informal educators, and much more.
