Trends in Content Development and the Implications for Teaching and Learning

Margaret Driscoll

Consultant, IBM Global Services, USA

Abstract:

This presentation explores the evolution of instructional design models with a focus on three of the newer models.  A review of the assumptions and trends that underlie these models will provide  insights into the technical, organizational and economic factors changing the role of educators and learners.  The implications for teaching and learning raise questions regarding the skills needed for professionals, the funding of education/training, and  the skills needed by learners.
